The local Humane Law Enforcement Unit is searching for the person who shot a pet cat earlier this month in front of its owner's Auburn home.
According to the Finger Lakes SPCA of Central New York, the cat was rushed to an emergency veterinary clinic late on April 8 immediately after someone shot it front of its owner's North Hoopes Avenue residence.
After veteranarians discovered the cat was paralyzed, the pet was euthanized.
The SPCA said a $500 reward has been offered for tips that leads to conviction of the person who shot the cat. Anyone with information regarding the felony-level crime is asked to call 253-5841. Callers may remain anonymous.
