This weeks Photographer's Journal is titled 'Play-by-Play.'
Daniel Edkin, 59, has been announcing and scorekeeping as a volunteer for Auburn youth baseball since 1986.
Edkin, who is autistic, overcomes some of the difficulties he has with casual conversation through his play-by-play announcing.
To many, he is known as 'Biker Dan' because he rides his bike to and from the ballparks.
His batters introductions, play-by-play calling and familiar PA announcement "Please return the foul balls to the playing field immediately, thank you!," have become an endearing part of the youth baseball experience for the current players as well as conjuring up memories for former players – many of which are todays baseball parents and volunteers.
