The Auburn Police Department made two arrests Monday in connection with a series of residential burglaries in the city.

Marquis L. Newman-Bright, 21, of 85 Fitch Ave., Auburn, and Lawrence F. Bright, 24, of Cleveland, were arrested and charged with one count of second-degree burglary and petit larceny.

Authorities say detectives and police officers were investigating the burglaries that occurred on Morris, Perry, and Franklin streets last week. Cash, electronic items and other accessories were stolen, police said.

Several stolen items were found after a search of 5 Franklin St., Apt. 2 in Auburn, according to police.

Police said the investigation will continue and additional charges are expected.
