DANNEMORA, N.Y. (AP) - A lockdown at a maximum-security New York state prison near the Canadian border has ended.

Inmates at the Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora were confined to their cells after a fight broke out among 20 inmates on Friday night.

The fight in the prison's main yard was stopped after guards fired several warning shots into the air. Corrections officers searching the yard after the fight found sharp weapons.

Officials locked down the prison as they conducted a search of the prison.

The investigation into what sparked the fight was continuing. Inmates involved in the fight will be disciplined.
