ALBANY - State University of New York Chancellor Nancy Zimpher is releasing the long awaited roadmap for what she calls the system's "cradle to career" plan in Manhattan.

She says the "Strategic Plan for 2010 and Beyond" has been 10 months in the making and is unprecedented in its scope, including the views of all constituencies from students to experts in academic fields.

Zimpher says the plan will enable SUNY to help drive New York's economy and create jobs through innovation.

She calls for new programs that would connect the 64 campuses to bring new ideas to market. She calls it an "entrepreneur mindset."

The plan will also be presented Tuesday in Albany; Binghamton and Utica on Thursday; Syracuse on Friday; and then in Westchester, Long Island, Rochester and Buffalo.
