An Auburn resident's porch caught fire for reasons still unknown, according to the Auburn Fire Department.

Firefighters responded to a porch fire at about 4:15 p.m. on Saturday at 18 Hoffman St., Auburn. AFD said neighbors had started putting out the fire with fire extinguishers before firefighters arrived.

The fire was put out within 10 minutes and was kept contained on the porch, not making its way to the house.

No one was injured, but AFD said one person was displaced. An investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.

The residence is currently owned by Mike Tardibone, of Auburn, but the displaced resident is an unnamed woman, according to the AFD. The house has been condemned as per the city code and will reopen as soon as the proper repairs are made.

The displaced resident is currently staying with her friends, according to the AFD.
