Westminster Manor, an adult home in Auburn, has hired Rebekah A. Race as its new executive director.

Race comes to the position with more than 15 years of experience working with the elderly, most recently serving as administrator of an assisted living facility in the Albany area.

In a statement, Race said: "I have always had a strong passion for serving the needs of the elderly population and advocating for seniors to be treated with the dignity and respect they deserve. I am thrilled to be working with such dedicated, caring and talented staff to further the mission of the Westminster Manor."

Race succeeds Barbara Bowen, who had served as interim director of the adult home since September.

The home, located at 81 South St., Auburn, celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2012.
