HIT: To a pair of recent honors for the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail.
The trail was recognized by Trip Advisor for its exceptional traveler ratings.

MISS: To a Syracuse teen's admission in court this week that he brutally assaulted two people in Auburn.
The teen seriously hurt two men, one had a broken hip and bruised face and the other man's facial injuries were so serious, surgeons had to reconstruct his face with metal plates and screws.
The 17-year-old will be sentenced to eight years in prison for the assaults. A message must be sent that brutal crimes such as these will result in harsh penalties.
HIT: To the recent return of one of Syracuse University basketball fans' all-time favorites, Carmelo Anthony.
Anthony played in a an NBA preseason game at the Carrier Dome as a member of the New York Knicks. Anthony has left a huge mark on the campus. His $3 million gift kick-started the building of the Carmelo Anthony Basketball Center that the Orange men's and women's teams use to practice and train.
It's nice to see an athlete of Anthony's caliber return some of the good will he received when he helped lead the Orange to the 2003 NCAA championship.
MISS: To a lock-down at the Five Points Correctional Facility in Seneca County last weekend.
Guards were assaulted and injured trying to break up a fight between a group inmates.
It's a reminder of how dangerous a job that corrections officers have.
