• AFD personnel took part in 193 hours of documented training this week:  10 hours of apparatus driving, operations and maintenance; 7 hours of in-service inspections; 10 hours of personal safety and protection; 40 hours of fire prevention; 48 hours of reports, records and written communications; 11 hours of fire pumps, 15 hours of professional development

• Officers attending building safety inspectors course

• Fire safety tours at Station 1 and various schools

• All companies and platoons doing yearly building inspections

• 2 new probationary firefighters took state EMT written test at New York State Fire Academy

• 2 members taking state certified lab and instructor exam for EMT

• One officer completed first line supervisors training program

• All platoons getting computer-aided dispatch and fire reporting training on new Spillman computer-aided dispatch and red alert systems

• AFD personnel taught classes in Cayuga County, at the New York State Fire Academy and across the state
