AURORA — Bruce E. Culver, 75, of Aurora, passed away Monday, Feb. 26, 2018 at Cayuga Medical Center.
Bruce was born on Feb. 20, 1943 in Batavia, N.Y. He was the son of the late Byron and Helen Culver, of Aurora. Bruce graduated from Sherwood Central School in 1962. After farming for 20 years he joined Southern Cayuga Central Schools where he retired as the transportation supervisor. Bruce served as the treasurer of The Masonic Lodge - Cayuga 221 and was a councilman and town supervisor for the town of Venice.
He was a lifelong member and past chief of the Poplar Ridge Volunteer Fire Department and Instant Aid. Bruce loved golf, hunting, fixing anything (not sure he loved it, but we made him do it anyway), and helping friends.
Bruce is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sharon Reynolds Culver; children, Jay (Melanie) Culver, of Atlanta, Kelly (Ray) Lupo, of Auburn, Jeff (Terri) Culver, of Union Springs, and Eric Culver (Erica Delaney), of Syracuse. Bruce was devoted to his grandchildren, Jacob Lupo, Gabrielle Lupo, Rachel Culver, Michael Culver, Andrew Culver, Alex Culver, Matthew Delaney and Zachary Delaney. He is also survived by his brothers, Don (Sue) Culver, of Flower Mound, Texas, and Gary (Barb) Culver, of Westminster, Md.; and many loved nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3:45 p.m. Friday, March 2, 2018, at Brew Funeral Home, 48 South St., Auburn, with a masonic service at 3:45 p.m. and a memorial service to follow at 4 p.m.
