POPLAR RIDGE — Edith A. Denman, 96, of Poplar Ridge, passed away Monday, Feb. 26, 2018 at University Hospital in Syracuse.
Mrs. Denman was born February 12, 1922 in Venice, a daughter of the late Fred and Lula (Baldwin) Avery. Edith was a life-long resident of southern Cayuga County, and was a 1941 graduate of King Ferry High School. She retired from Smith-Corona, after 27 years of employment. Edith was devoted to all of her family. She enjoyed crocheting and bird watching throughout her life.
Surviving, are her two daughters, Joyce Quick (Dave Cota) and Kathy Landon (Bill), step-children: Debra Scott (Randy), Bruce Denman (Chris), Ken Denman (Sandy), Gary Denman (Terri), Eugene Denman, and Kenny Denman Jr. (Melissa); two sisters, Grace VanOrman and Eva Sweazey, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her two husbands, Jack Frost, and John Denman, by brothers: William, John, Ben, and Dick Avery; and by her sisters, Marian Fenner, Lula Fiorenzo, and Nancy Maxwell.
Friends may call at the Ledyard United Methodist Church, 1609 Route 34B, from 11 am, until the time of the memorial service at 1 pm, Saturday, March 10, 2018, with Rev. Glynn English officiating.
