MONTEZUMA — Larry E. Treat, 70, of the town of Montezuma, died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2018, in Auburn Community Hospital.
Larry was born in Auburn, the son of Ernest and Dorothy Vergason Treat. He was a Port Byron graduate of 1965 and was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving 1966 to 1970. He retired from Morris Protection Agency. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved spending time with his family and friends.
Larry is survived by his wife of 46 years, Darlene (Sherman) Treat; his children, Michele Barnes (Jason), and Marsha Caskey (Danny); three grand dogs, Captain, Ace and Fritz; grandchildren, Jaya Wittwer, Illyana and Conner Caskey; three stepchildren; sister, Donna Treat; brother and sisters-in-law; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
Mr. Treat’s funeral service will be conducted at 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 3, at the Heieck-Pelc Funeral Home, LLC, 42 E. Genesee St., Auburn. Family and friends are invited to call on the family from 2 to 3:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Private burial will be in the spring.
