AURORA | Raymond “Craig” Polhamus, 56, of Dublin Hill Road, Aurora, died Saturday, May 25, 2013 at his home.

Raymond was the son of the late Harry and Lucille Bixler Polhamus, and was born in Auburn on July 17, 1957. He attended Southern Cayuga Central School, and had previously been employed with Ithaca Gun as a machinist.

He also worked at the family vegetable farm. He loved the outdoors, gardening, and photography. Raymond was talented both mechanically, and artistically. In his youth, he enjoyed drawing; mostly he enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews.

Raymond is survived by his five sisters, Linda White with David Hoffman, of Candor, Sarah Short, of Auburn, Nancy Polhamus with Roger Clark, of Aurora, Catherine (David) Hobart, of Scipio, and Jennie (Skip) Stearns, of Weedsport; three brothers, Thomas (Vicki) Greenway, of Texas, Jeffrey Polhamus with Barbara King, of Aurora, and Daniel Polhamus, of Aurora, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Raymond was predeceased by two sisters, Rebecca Polhamus and Barbara Whiffen; two brothers, Burdette Greenway and Francis Polhamus, and a brother-in-law, Martin Short.

Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, June 1 in White Chapel Funeral Home, 197 South St., Auburn. Burial will be in Ridgeway Cemetery. Friends are invited to call on the family from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, prior to services.
