VENICE CENTER — Robert Parks Jr. “Red,” 80, of Venice Center, passed away Monday, Dec. 4, 2017 at Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse.
Mr. Parks was born Aug. 1, 1937 in Triangle, as son of the late Robert and Madelyn (Gates) Parks. A Venice resident for most of his life, Red was formerly employed with Parmley Farms, and later retired from Cargill Inc. of Lansing where he had been a hoist operator.
Red was an active member of the New York State Horsepuller’s Association, and was known to occasionally enjoy a Budweiser.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Dianna (Bryan) Parks; his three daughters, Paula Fairbanks, Rosalie Hapgood (Richard), and Michelle Saville (“Chip”); son, David Knight (Amber); two brothers, Gary Parks (Marge) and Larry Parks (Sue); three sisters, Sheila Grant (Bob), JoAnn Brewer, and Kay VanTassel; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and other extended family members.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Tina Weaver; his twin brother, Ronald; brothers, Oren and Carl, and by a sister, Betty Parks.
At Red’s request, there will be no services or calling hours.
