The Throop Fire Department is hosting an open house from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13, that will include a Mercy Flight helicopter, fire trailer, Cayuga County Sheriff's Office Safe Child ID cards, Highland Search and rescue and Sparky the fire dog.

There will be a free bounce house, and children will get a chance to use fire hoses, color pictures and have their faces painted. There will also be a cake wheel, concessions and giveaways.

The firehouse is located at 7159 Beech Tree Road, Throop.
