You have seen mosaic installations around town and wondered what they were about? You have driven by Meyer Bookbinding and could have sworn a real person was leaning against the painted door? You have noticed the banner on the city parking garage and couldn’t figure out what it depicts? Don’t despair! Your answers are only a click away at www.auburnarttrail.com - thanks to the people who helped make it a reality.

For many years I envisioned a walking tour through Downtown Auburn that highlights the numerous public artworks that beautify our downtown and make it special. Last year, all the pieces finally came together and I would like to thank Connie Reilley and Jesse Kline from the Auburn Downtown BID for joining me in this endeavor as well as the board of the Columbian Foundation for their grant support. We were very pleased with the services of Crème della Crème Communications, who designed and printed beautiful maps. Photographer Carolyn Freligh provided us with the pictures. Thanks to Dan Lovell from code_munkeys, who created a website that features an interactive map and artist videos. Last but not least I would like to congratulate all the artists on their beautiful artworks, because without them there would be no art trail. Keep them coming, so we have more reasons to walk and discover Downtown Auburn!

Monika Salvage is the founder and project manager for the Auburn Public Art Trail. All thank you letters are reprinted as submitted.
