There are so many good people that give of their time and talent in local government. I thank everyone that serves in any elected or appointed position be it at the county, city, town or village level. You are the people that preserve our communities and uphold our local laws, and I am grateful. We all know that it's certainly not about the paycheck, it's because they care about our community and they want to be a part of the solution.
This is why I ask your support for my husband, Paul Pinckney. He does care, and in the last eight years he has given his all to this county by representing Legislative District 5 (Aurelius and Fleming) and doing his best working with 14 other people to govern this county. He has proven himself as someone that listens to every side of the issues and he searches for a resolution that will benefit the people. It's not about party politics, it's about finding a better way to serve everyone in Cayuga County.
When you are burdened with unfunded mandates on the federal and state level, finding a way to balance a budget and maintain adequate services becomes a difficult and at times impossible task, but Paul Pinckney perseveres, he works hard, he is on the phone with fellow legislators and residents daily, he attends committee meetings, legislative meetings and deals with issues that not only affect his district, but the whole county. And that's why I think Paul Pinckney is the person to vote for, we cannot be blind to the issues that only serve a few. He is not a good ole boy, he recognizes the importance to stand alone when necessary but he also recognizes that there has to be give and take so that the "whole" can be served.
Paul has proven that he can work with everyone, no matter what their party affiliation, bottom line Paul Pinckney cares about all of the people in Cayuga County, he will work to find the best way to protect our natural resources, develop a plan for future development, ensure we have a user friendly county office Building that is safe for the staff and the public. Please vote Paul Pinckney Legislator for District 5 on Nov. 7.
