As the 2017 United Way Campaign begins winding down, the Campaign Cabinet would like to thank everyone that has made a donation and every business and agency that ran workplace campaigns and/or matched employee donations.
We talk about what a caring, generous community we live in but it’s quite another thing to have seen and heard it from people like you during the course of the campaign. Thanks to every one of you that donated to this year’s campaign. The 2 out of 3 county residents that access United Way funded services in a given year thank you as well. These folks are your neighbors, your friends and your family so donating feels good.
This year’s campaign goal is $900,000 and that money funds 39 programs that provide critical services for children, families, adults and the elderly. This funding is an important safety net in the areas of early childhood education, domestic violence, transportation, poverty, homelessness, substance abuse services and other services that make such a positive difference in people lives.
Donations stay local and the funded agencies are committed to working on long-term impactful strategies to make our community a better place. There is still time for you to make a donation and all donations are welcome no matter the size. For more information about the United Way and/or to make a donation, please go to www.unitedwayofcayugacounty.org.
Thanks to all of you and here’s hoping for a safe and happy holiday season.
