SYRACUSE | Rut roh.

As the Buffalo Bisons swept past the Syracuse Chiefs in a doubleheader, 4-3 and 5-4, on Wednesday the hometown club fell back to .500 on the season.

After a 5-1 road trip to start the season, the Chiefs are obviously 1-5 on the current homestand.

In the opener, Buffalo scored all its runs on a couple of singles and a Ross Ohlendorf wild pitch in the top of the fifth. Ryan Langerhans’ single knocked in a pair as all of the runs were charged to Ohlendrof. Ohlendorf took his first loss of the season, but struck out six batters in 4.2 innings of work as he gave up five hits.

Syracuse got a pair of runs on a Mike Costanzo as he drove in Jeff Kobernus and Will Rhymes in the bottom of the sixth of the shortened opener.

In the nightcap, the Chiefs struck out 13 times over its eight at-bats even though Jimmy Van Ostrand was 2-for-4 on the night.

Mauro Gomez had his third homer in three games for Buffalo.
