SYRACUSE | The nine innings played on the windswept afternoon of April 18, 2013 at NBT Bank Stadium were historic.

Historic for the visitors though.

The Buffalo Bisons scored ten runs in the top of the seventh inning, hit five home runs, got six doubles, legged out two triples, went 29-for-56 at the plate and beat the Syracuse Chiefs, 27-9.

The 27 runs and the 29 hits were the most in an International League game in the past four decades.

Starting from the top and going down for Buffalo: 2012 Chief Jim Negrych hit for the cycle and is hitting .515 this season, Mises Sierra was 6-for-6 with five runs scored and three RBI, Luis Jimenez was 5-for-7 with eight RBI and four runs scored, Ryan Langerhans was 3-for-6 with two home runs and six RBI, and finally Josh Thole was 4-for-6 with four RBI.

It was ugly for Syracuse pitching.

On the other hand, the Chiefs actually had a pretty good day at the plate with 14 hits including a home runs from Chris Marrero and Mike Costanzo. Marrero was 3-for-5 with a homer and double as he drove in three runs. Costanzo drove in two and scored twice.

It was a 3 hour, 41 minute game which forced some writers to cover other events.
