ROCHESTER | Brett Carroll went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run and had one of the weaker days at the plate for the Syracuse Chiefs .
The Chiefs had a deluge of hits, 22, and a season-high of runs as they stomped Red Wings, 17-9, in Rochester on Thursday.
Every Syracuse batter had at least a hit, scored at least a run, and seven drove in runs in the win. The Chiefs had season highs in hits and extra base hits as they knocked seven doubles and four home runs.
Eury Perez, Jesus Valdez, and Carlos Rivero all went 4-for-6. Perez and Rivero scored twice, while Valdez crossed the plate three times. Valdez drove in a team-high four and Rivero knocked in three.
Valdez, Rivero, Carroll and Seth Bynum all homered in the win.
