Freshman Abbie Izzo finished with four goals, including the game-winner in the second overtime, as Auburn girls lacrosse shocked Fulton 14-13 Saturday.

Izzo's overtime goal earned the Maroons their fourth win of the season.

Izzo was one of four Auburn players to record multi-goal games. Sax Dixon also buried four goals, while Marguerite Cuddy scored three and Bianca Giacona recorded a pair. Natalie Calandra-Ryan dished out three assists, Jillian Alberici rounded out the scoring with one goal, and Claire Netti, Carrissa Hlywa and Kate Izzo all picked up one assist.

Alberici also racked up 16 draw controls.

Auburn (4-1) hosts Central Square on Tuesday.

Boys lacrosse

Auburn 10, Fulton 3: Jake Morin totaled four goals to go with one assist, while Lucas Hogan scored three times and dished out one assist. Griffin Dautrich scored a pair while Matt Vanliew finished with one goal. Greg Walsh had three assists and Nick Shattinger added one.

In net, Parker Hogan made three saves.

Auburn (2-4) heads to Central Square on Tuesday.


Weedsport 15, Port Byron 0: Karena Ward allowed two hits and no walks while striking out one batter to earn a complete game shutout for the Warriors.  She also went 2-for-3 (double) with three runs and two RBIs.

Also on offense for the Warriors, Taylor Hunter was 2-for-2 including a grand slam and a double. She finished with six RBIs and three runs. Michelle Robinson was 3-for-4 with a pair of runs and one RBI, Lochlyn Brown had a 1-for-4 day with one run and one RBI, and Aubrey Ouderkirk had two hits and three runs.

Weedsport (1-0) takes on Fabius-Pompey Thursday, while Port Byron (3-2) travels to Pulaski Monday.

Girls track and field

Blue Devil Relays: Southern Cayuga's Emma Van Amburgh, Emma Myers, Amber Black and Aimee Kreydatus won the 4x100m relay (53.6). Brianna Gentile, Bridget Davis, Betsy Gloss and Bridget Hastings were second place in the distance medley relay (14:46.9).

Moravia's Mia Dillon, Alexis Anderson, Salla Makinen and Maddie Becker were second in the sprint medley relay (4:59.10). Dillon, Meghan Lamphere, Anderson and Makinen were second in the 4x200m relay (2:03.50). Dillon, Becker, Sydney Smith and Lizzi Dusseau were second in the 1600m relay (4:57.10). The Blue Devils were third in the shot put relay, third in the discus relay, and first in the long jump relay.

Weedsport's Lindsey Mickle, Jessica Cook, Alexandra Lajo-Leonardi and Alexia Gilner were first in the contralto (6:17.70). Breanna Roof, Natalie Mogavero, Mikhayla Brown and Jenna Sullivan were third in the sprint medley relay (4:59.20). Alena Manchester, Mya Maloof, Jocelyn Kepple and Makayla Stott were third in the 4x800m relay (13:14.70). The Warriors were third in the long jump relay.

Union Springs' Allayna Dillon, Gabi Balog, Jodie Jenkin and Rebecca Colgan finished first in the freshman/sophomore sprint medley relay (5:02.10). The Wolves were second in the discus relay, and second in the high jump relay (Jenkin, Balog).

Boys track and field

Blue Devil Relays: Weedsport took first in the 4x100m relay, first in the sprint medley relay, first in the clydesdale, first in the pole vault relay. Weedsport also took second in the triple jump relay, second in the long jump relay, second in the shot put relay, third in the 4x400m relay (4:08.50), third in the discus relay, third in the high jump relay

Moravia's Jacob Stockton, Andrew Badman, Alex Scholeno and Jared Russell were second in the distance medley relay (13:01.80). In the 4x200m relay, Justin Wilmarth, Scholeno, Carter Lucas and Badman were second (1:51.50). Ben Langtry, Noah Newhart, Lucas and Ed Sisson were third in the clydesdale (5:03.00).

Moravia was third in the long jump relay.

Union Springs' Danny Mallon, Dylan Walawender, Evan Miner and Jose Montalvo were third in the 4x200m relay (1:53.40).

Southern Cayuga's Conner Bennett, Ben Stiadle, Jacob Schmitt and Chris Morris took first in the 4x800m relay (9:30.1). Finishing second in the sprint medley relay were Phillip Holden, Jordan Stephenson, Steven Sherman and Chris Morris. The Chiefs also had a trio of third-place finishers: Stiadle and Sherman in the triple jump relay (62-3), Jamison Murray, Ian Murray, Sam Perez and Sean Kennedy in the distance medley relay (13:50.7), and Alex Larsen, Andy Poklemba, Brian Collier and Sam Kniffen in the sprint medley relay (4:20.2).


Girls track and field

Marathon Spring Fling: The Southern Cayuga girls finished fourth out of nine teams with 40 points. The Chiefs finished first in two events and third in three. Emma Myers won the 100m dash (13.32), while Emma Van Amburgh, Myers, Amber Black and Aimee Kreydatus combined to take the 4x100m relay (53.67). Finishing third were Betsy Gloss in the 1500m run (5:57.98) and the 4x400m relay of Van Amburgh, Black, Bridget Hastings and Bridget Davis (4:47.98).

Union Springs was fifth with 36 points. The Wolves didn't have any winners but a number of athletes placed. Allayna Dillon was second in the 400m dash (1:09.78), Rebecca Colgan was second in the 400m hurdles (1:20.49) and Jodie Jenkin was tied for third in the high jump (4-4). The 1600m sprint medley team, consisting of Allayna Dillon, Jenkin, Gabi Balog and Colgan was also third (4:56.20).

Moravia came in sixth with 32 points. The Blue Devils had one second-place finisher and two third-place finishers. Alexis Anderson was the runner-up in the 200m dash (28.43), while Sydney Smith in the shot put (25-11.75) and Mia Dillon in the high jump (4-4) were both third in their respective events.

Boys track and field

Marathon Spring Fling: Moravia totaled 16 points and was seventh. Andrew Badman was the Blue Devils' lone winner, claiming the 400m run (52.36). The sprint medley team of Badman, Justin Wilmarth, Alex Scholeno and Jared Russell were third (4:10.07).

Southern Cayuga had 15 points and finished in eighth. The 4x400m relay team of Conner Bennett, Alex Larsen, Jordan Stephenson and Damian Rejman were runners-up at 3:55.60.

Union Springs was ninth with 12.33 points. The 4x100m relay of Tad Patterson, Jose Montalvo, Evan Miner and Gavin Smithler were fourth (49.92), while Kobe Haight was fourth in the high jump (5-4).
