The Port Byron/Union Springs boys cross country team capped off an undefeated season and secured a division title by sweeping SAS, Onondaga and Tully.

The Panthers won over SAS 15-50, topped Onondaga 15-50 and bested Tully 22-33 for the OHSL Patriot division title.

The Panthers secured four of the top five spots in the race which was critical in the win. Michael Schumacher was Port Byron's top finisher, coming in second (17:38). Braden York was third (17:39). Ben York came in fourth (17:53), Jon Jackson placed fifth (18:02) and Jakob Dillon crossed the finish line in ninth (19:14).

Port Byron is off until next Saturday when it competes at the Chittenango Invitational.

Weedsport 20, Cato-Meridian 41; Weedsport 22, LaFayette 33; Weedsport 15, Fabius-Pompey 50; Weedsport 15, Deruyter 50: Ryan Spingler came in second overall for the Warriors, followed by A.J. Spoor in third, Eric Lally in sixth, Andy Sayles in seventh and Bruno Iocobelli in 10th.

Logan Carnicelli (18:06), Cilas Oot (21:40), Ryan Baldwin (24:42) and Chris Russo (35:00) were the top finishers for the Blue Devils.

IAC divisional meet: Southern Cayuga placed fourth overall with 89 points, behind Trumansburg, Lansing and Dryden. Chris Morris was 14th (19:16), Ben Stiadle came in 16th (19:29), Conner Bennett placed 17th (19:31), Sean Kennedy ranked 19th (19:45) and Gesten Mahannah finished 30th (21:58).


Port Byron 15, SAS 50; Port Byron 18, Onondaga 39; Tully 20, Port Byron 37: Four Panthers runners placed in the top 10 positions, led by Hannah Yorkey in third overall (21:00). Haley Yorkey came in fifth (21:46), Corrine Stevens was ninth (23:36), Molly Yorkey ranked 10th (23:49) and Allayna Dillon ended up in 13th (24:24).

Port Byron wraps up the regular season with a 10-1 record, which is second in the OHSL Patriot division. The Panthers compete in the Chittenango Invitational next Saturday.

Weedsport 28, Cato-Meridian 30; LaFayette 28, Weedsport 29; Weedsport 15, Fabius-Pompey 50; Weedsport 15, Deruyter 50; LaFayette 25, Cato-Meridian 30; Cato-Meridian 15, Fabius Pompey inc.; Cato-Meridian 15, Deruyter inc.: The Warriors' Brooke Hammersley was second overall with a time of 22:57. Natalie Mogavero came in 10th (24:19) and Alexis Field was 12th (24:50).

Grace Cady placed second for the Blue Devils (22:26), followed by Megan Cady in fourth (23:19), Lydia Cox in sixth (23:48), Mairin Ellesworth in 12th (25:30) and Sarah Perez in 13th (25:59).

IAC divisional meet: Southern Cayuga's Betsy Gloss was 21st (24:11), Sophia Bennett was 27th (24:52) and Lowry Miller came in 30th (25:38).


Moravia 3, Dryden 1: The Blue Devils won the first set 25-18, fell in the second set 20-25 but wrapped up the final two frames 25-14, 25-17.

Maddy Kelly led with 14 points, one ace and two kills. Liz Vivenzio added 11 points, two aces and two kills, and Brianna Steger chipped in with 11 points, three aces and one kill. Alethea Banerjee and Illeana Ramirez were keys on defense for Moravia.

Lansing 3, Southern Cayuga 1: The Chiefs lost the first two sets 25-20, 25-13, rebounded in a third set win 25-21, before falling in the fourth set 25-18.

Jaide Cummings recorded 10 assists, six points, three aces and one kill to pace Southern Cayuga. Amber Black added two aces, four points, three kills and one assist, Brittney Meade posted two aces, two kills and eight points, and Oscar Montalvo finished with two aces, 11 points and four kills.

Southern Cayuga is home on Friday and then participates in the Dryden tournament on Saturday.
