Port Byron girls basketball gutted out a win Thursday, defeating Fabius-Pompey 39-24.

Ava Mills paced the Panthers with 11 points, four rebounds and two steals, while Amanda Chuttey racked up eight points, 10 rebounds, two steals and two assists. Mariah Howell added seven points, five rebounds and a steal.

Port Byron faces Tully on Monday.


New Hartford 100, Weedsport 80: Macauley Kolonko picked up wins in two invididual events and was part of a winning relay team for the Warriors.

Kolonko won the 100 butterfly in 55.94 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:08.84. Allison House was Weedsport's other individual winner, taking first in the 100 backstroke at 1:12.34. Will Sterling, Skylar Tracy, House and Kolonko teamed up to win the 400 freestyle relay (3:48.17).


Cortland 3, Cato-Meridian 1: Jailynn Evans was credited with two aces, one kill, two assists and two digs, Bridget Kipp posted two kills and two digs, Breanna Lee recorded one ace and 11 digs, and Marissa Teska finished with two aces, one kill, one assist and one dig. Allyson Dennis added one ace, one kill and one block, and Meghan McCarthy chipped in with one ace, one kill, two assists and one dig.

Cato-Meridian faces Chittenango on Monday.
