Jenna Morris placed 55th in her first state meet.

The Moravia sophomore finished with a time of 22:58.1 in the New York State Public High School Athletic Association's Class D girls cross country race at Wayne Central School Saturday.

Morris qualified for states by placing fifth with a time of 21:00.7 in the Section IV, Class D race on Nov. 2.

Morris had three other top 10 finishes this season.

Morris placed second at the IAC Championships with a time of 21:20.3 on Oct. 28, and finished seventh at the Marathon Invitational (21:35.4) and the McQuaid Invitational (19:18.1).
