This week's Photographer's Journal video is titled "Scipioville Garage."
Bill Cox, 83, purchased the Scipioville Garage 62 years ago. Being the sole mechanic since 1955, he can truly boast that he is his own boss. The garage is pretty much in the middle of nowhere located at the intersection of Route 34B and Center Road.
Originally owned by George Baker until he sold it to Cox, the Scipioville Garage has always been an auto repair business and turns 100 years old this October.
With sliding wooden barn doors and a wooden floor, the garage looks much like it did a century ago when servicing Ford Model T's.
Cox, who learned his craft in the Navy during the war, jokes that he should give up mechanic work and open the garage as an historical museum.
