Auburn singer Diana Jacobs has released a new single, "What She Needs," from her forthcoming solo album.
All proceeds from digital downloads of the single through April 4 will go to Nick's Ride 4 Friends, of Auburn, which promotes awareness of drug addiction and provides programs that encourage recovery. The single is now available on iTunes, Amazon and CD Baby.
On Friday, April 5, Jacobs will celebrate the release of the album with a party at 7 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn, 74 State St., Auburn. The party will feature Jacobs with Edgar Pagan, Morris Tarbell, Richie Melito, Dave Kuykendall, Irv Lyons, Tom Townsley, Nate Felty, Deyquan Bowens and Max Eylean, as well as an opening set by a new local blues project, a cash bar and light food.
The album features a mix of blues and jazz performed by Jacobs and several of the same performers who will join her April 5. One of Jacobs' jazz-inspired originals on the album also features Grammy Award-winning trumpeter and flugelhornist Randy Brecker.
A CD copy of the album comes with admission to the party. It is $15 in advance at Speno Music in Auburn or eventbrite.com, and $20 at the door.
