While those observing Lent are thinking about fish dinners this time of year, anglers are thinking about the upcoming season.

Bass Pro Shops in Aurelius will present a week of educational events and other programming during the outdoor retailer's 2018 Spring Fishing Classic, taking place through March 4.

Here are the events taking place:

• 6:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23: "Rod and Reel Maintenance" seminar

• 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 24: "Lake Ontario Brown Trout Tactics" seminar

• 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24: "Lake Ontario Salmon Tactics" seminar

• 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24: "Understanding Baitfish Movements" seminar

• 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24: "The Strategy of Successful Kayak Fishing" seminar

• 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 25: "Understanding Baitfish Movements" seminar

• 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 25: "The Strategy of Successful Kayak Fishing" seminar

• Noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 3: Children's activities

• 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 3: Women's fishing workshops

• Noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 4: Children's activities

Several special offers will also be available at the store.

All events are free and open to the public at the store at Fingerlakes Mall, 1579 Clark St. Road, Aurelius.
