The Skaneateles Library and Great Lakes Guitar Society's Guitar Concert Series will present a solo recital by Grammy-winning classical guitarist Jason Vieaux at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, at First Presbyterian Church, 97 E. Genesee St., Skaneateles.
Vieaux has performed as a concerto soloist with more than 100 orchestras, including Cleveland, Toronto, Houston and San Diego. He won a Grammy Award in 2015 for Best Classical Instrumental Solo for "Play," and the song "Zapateado" was also chosen as one of NPR's "50 Favorite Sons of 2014 (So Far)."
He will perform several classical works in Skaneateles, including Domenico Scarlatti's "Sonata in A Major, K. 208"; Mauro Giuliani's "Variations on a Theme by Handel, Op. 107"; Bach's "Violin Sonata 1 in G Minor BWV 1001"; and Isaac Albeniz's "Asturias" and "Cuba" from "Suite Espanola."
The performance, as with all in the Guitar Concert Series, is free and open to the public.
