A fundraiser for an adaptive sport club will feature a performance by "The Voice" singer Mary Sarah at 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 14.
The defining moment for Melissa Stockwell came at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in 2004.
The fundraiser, for the Dare2tri Paratriathlon Club, will take place at Dana L. West Jr.-Sr. High School, 30 Maple Ave., Port Byron. The club helps youth through adults with physical challenges and visual impairments, as well as injured service members, become more physically active and compete in triathlons. Speaking will be Dare2tri co-founder Melissa Stockwell, a two-time Paralympic athlete and bronze medalist at the 2016 Paralympics in Rio.
Sarah will then perform an acoustic set. The singer/songwriter from Tulsa, Oklahoma, finished fifth in the 2016 season of NBC's "The Voice." She has released three albums, most recently 2015's "Dress Up This Town."
Tickets to the event are $23 in advance at ticketfly.com, and $28 at the door. Doors open at 5 p.m.
