Auburn Public Theater will welcome its first musician of 2019 when guitarist Hiroya Tsukamoto performs and leads a workshop at the downtown venue this weekend.
Fusing folk, jazz and world music, Tsukamoto's fingerstyle guitar work has earned him critical raves. He performs throughout the U.S., and has six albums to his name.
The concert will take place at 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at the theater, 8 Exchange St., Auburn. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door; student rush tickets are free but subject to availability.
The workshop, "Introduction to Composing for Guitar," will take place at 11 the next morning at the theater. Registration is $30.
