Try 3 months for $3

The Holiday Inn in Auburn is full July 28, 2016, for the Cayuga/Seneca Community Action Agency's Taste for Community Action fundraiser.

Good vibes, good times, good friends — if that is what you are seeking this summer, then please join Cayuga/Seneca Community Action Agency at our 23rd annual Taste for Community Action from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 19, at the newly renovated Auburn Holiday Inn.

Upon checking in for the event, each attendee is provided a personal wine glass for tastings from our growing list of vendors, including CB Craft Brewers, Bet the Farm Winery, Fox Run Vineyards, Fulkerson Winery, Glenora Wine Cellars, Hosmer Winery, Knapp Winery, Montezuma Winery, The Good Shepherds Brewing Co. and Treleaven Wines of King Ferry. For those who prefer to sample non-alcoholic beverages, 3 Leaf Tea and Crow City Roasters will also be present.

The advance sale ticket price of $30 will also allow each attendee to sample the area’s greatest fare from a variety of vendors, including Auburn Clambake, BJ's Wholesale Club, Cayuga Lake Creamery, del Lago Resort & Casino, Moe's Southwest Grill, Muzzi’s D’Italia Ice, Oak & Vine at Springside, The Refinery Modern Fare, Strawberry Fields Hydroponic Farm, Wildflowers Café and Wild’s Eats & Sweets.

The Rounds will be performing in the main ballroom and John Lerner will be entertaining all who venture into the courtyard to taste many delectable samples from vendors located near the pool.

This event would not be possible without the help of sponsorships provided by the community’s local business. The agency sincerely appreciates the contributions from our diamond sponsors the Holiday Inn and R.G. Wright Insurance Agency; an anonymous platinum sponsor; gold sponsors Empower Federal Credit Union, Finger Lakes Radio Group, Reagan Companies, Savannah Bank NA, The Citizen, The Fraternal Order of Eagles and Two Plus Four Management Co.; silver sponsors Beardsley Architects + Engineers, Chemung Canal Trust Co., Cuddy & Ward LLP, Majorpalooza Inc., Medent, Paradise Entertainment, Riester Appliances, Seneca Office Products, The Jacobs Press, The Real Estate Co., Thurston Law Office P.C., Wegmans, and Xylem Inc.; and bronze sponsors Auburn Discount Liquor, EmCom Inc., Fidelis Care New York, ITT Goulds Pump, Lifespan Therapies, Shred Solvers, The Printery and Toski & Company P.C.

Another highlight of the evening is the silent auction and raffles. We are currently seeking donations of goods and services for this purpose. Items donated this year include: handcrafted outdoor furniture by Nick Diego, custom jewelry by Grayson Cottage, dining for a year by Panera, knitted children’s clothing by Renee Strazzere, team-signed footballs by the New York Jets and New York Giants, admission to the Rosamond Gifford Zoo in Syracuse, family memberships to the Seward House Museum and Schweinfurth Art Center, tickets to the Finger Lakes Musical Theatre Festival, overnight stays at Hilton Garden Inn, Hampton Inn Waterloo and Hampton Inn Seneca Falls, gift certificates to local restaurants, bottles of local wine, and so much more!

If you would like to join in on the excitement of the evening, advanced sale tickets are available now for $30 dollars, or you can buy five and get one free (six tickets for $150). You may purchase tickets online at or at our agency's offices, located at 89 York St. in Auburn, 1 Brookfield Place in Auburn, and 23 Center St. in Waterloo. Tickets may also be purchased for $35 at the door the evening of the event. Our agency Facebook page ( and event website ( will be frequently updated regarding vendors and auction items, so be sure to check them out.

Volunteers are needed to help work the event in a variety of ways. Volunteers who give an hour of their time are eligible to attend the remainder of the event for free. Grab a friend and join us for the night as volunteers and guests! Proceeds from Taste for Community Action support agency-wide programs and services designed to alleviate hunger and homelessness, help domestic violence victims, prepare individuals for the workforce, provide early childhood development, improve health outcomes, lower energy costs and consumption, strengthen families and mitigate crisis.
