Finger Lakes Musical Theatre Festival auditions

Shane Heidecker auditions for the Finger Lakes Musical Theatre Festival's 2016 season Jan. 29 at Westminster Presbyterian Church.

The Finger Lakes Musical Theatre Festival has announced the launch of a new educational series, Festival 360°.

The program will give participants behind-the-scenes access to the summer festival at three shows: "Oklahoma!" June 11, "Crazy For You" Aug. 6 and "Treasure Island" Aug. 20, all beginning at 10 a.m. those Saturdays at the festival's administrative offices at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 17 William St., Auburn.

“We are thrilled about this new series,” said Artistic Director of Youth Theatre Lisa Myers in a news release. “We can’t wait to pull back the curtain at the festival and to allow participants to not just watch a musical at the (Merry-Go-Round) Playhouse, but to experience it from every angle. There is so much that goes into putting on a professional production here that most never get to experience. Now, in our Festival 360° series, they can.”

The series is for ages 10 and up. It will include backstage tours, question-and-answer sessions with production and creative staff and a VIP lunch with cast members, as well as immersion in the technical and creative aspects of a musical. It concludes with a viewing of the show at the playhouse.
