Apples

The Sterling Nature Center will host an apple cider pressing from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at the center, Jensvold Road, Sterling.

Participants will help create fresh cider with a people-powered fruit press, as well as take part in grinding and pasteurizing. Meanwhile, they will learn about the history of apples and apple products, the apple industry and the varieties of apples. A taste test of apples from local orchards is also possible.

Apples are supplied by Ontario Orchards.

Admission is free and open to the public.
