Acclaimed poet Donika Kelly will read her work at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, in the Art Exhibit Room of Macmillan Hall on the campus of Wells College, 170 Main St., Aurora.
Kelly comes to the college through its Visiting Writers Series, which will also arrange a master class with her at 12:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, in the Main Building's Faculty Parlors. The class is called "On Love and Luck: Generating Tension in Love Poems."
Kelly is the author of "Bestiary," which won the 2015 Cave Canem Poetry Prize and the 2017 Hurston/Wright Legacy Award for Poetry.
Admission to the reading is free and open to the public.
