Wreaths Across America

Auburn's Wreaths Across America Ceremony dedicated 22 wreaths at The Episcopal Church of SS. Peter & John in 2016.

Wreaths Across America Day will be observed at noon Saturday, Dec. 16, at The Episcopal Church of SS. Peter & John, 169 Genesee St., Auburn.

The remembrance ceremony is held by Dana L. West Jr.-Sr. High School students and the Cayuga Community College Criminal Justice Club in cooperation with Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 704. It will take place simultaneously with similar events at more than 1,200 locations.

The featured speaker will be Gold Star Mother Lorie Schneider, chair of the Cpl. Kyle R. Schneider Foundation. Kyle was killed in action in 2011.

“We are so grateful to the Cayuga County Community, the Dana L. West Students and Cayuga Community College students and The Vietnam Veterans Chapter 704 for participating in our mission to Remember, Honor and Teach,” said Karen Worcester, executive director of Wreaths Across America, in a news release.

The event is free and open to the public.
