SOUTHWORTH, George S., 74, of Haiti Road, Port Byron, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2019. Funeral services will be held privately with White Chapel Funeral Home, 2719 Erie Drive, Weedsport.
MORAVIA — Doris M. Wilson, 95, of Moravia, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2019.
Mrs. Wilson was born Sept. 5, 1923 in Auburn, a daughter of the late Carl F. and Julia C. (Krell) Jordan. She was a lifelong homemaker, a devoted mother and grandmother. She enjoyed reading, traveling, and visiting with family and friends.
She is survived by five children, Karl (Cheryl) Wilson, of Moravia, George (Patricia) Wilson, of Scipio Center, Geraldine (John) Nedza, of Genoa, Laura (Jay) Warner, of Hawaii Island, and Rosemarie (Daniel) Hastings, of King Ferry; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert G. Wilson, in 2006; a grandson, Levi E. Hastings, in 2016; and by three brothers and two sisters and their spouses, Edward (Virginia) Jordan, Harry (Josephine) Jordan, Luster (Katherine) Jordan, Norma Culleton (Joseph), and Milda French (Harry).
A private service will be held at the Shurtleff Funeral Home, Genoa. No calling hours. Spring interment will be held in Venice Rural Cemetery.

AUBURN — Joan Powers Juli, 86, of Auburn, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2019, at the Aaron Manor Rehab and Nursing Center, Fairport, N.Y.
Joan was a life resident of the Auburn area, the daughter of the late Wayne and Pauline Wilson Powers. She and her husband, Don, operated a farm in Aurelius for 60 years.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Juli; two daughters, Linda (Doug) Dorsey, of Webster, and Vicki (Tom Personius) Hogdin, of Wilson, N.Y.; three grandchildren, Ashley and Kurtis Hogdin, and Julie (Josh) DeMersman; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Plis Funeral Home, 220 State St., Auburn. Services will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph’s Mausoleum.

MCINTOSH, Kristie L., 59, of Auburn, died Monday, Feb. 4, 2019. Funeral services at 4 p.m. today in The Vineyard, 360 Grant Ave., Auburn, followed by a celebration of her life. MUNCY, Pa. — Eva M. Potter, 87, a resident of Muncy, Pa., passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2019, in The Gatehouse at Williamsport.
Born Aug. 15, 1931 in Springport, Cayuga County, N.Y., she was a daughter of the late Adelbert and Hazel (Phillips) Covert. She was the widow of George Potter who preceded her in death in 1988. Eva had been employed as a sales associate by Wal-Mart and had previously been employed by Montgomery Sportswear and Liberty Sportswear. She enjoyed needlepoint and cross-stitching. Eva especially enjoyed family and attending family gatherings.
She is survived by six children, Donna and husband, Dave Tubbs, of Binghamton, N.Y., Larry Potter, of Union Springs, N.Y., Byron and wife, Barb Potter, of Muncy, Pa., Lori and husband, Robert Miller, of Montgomery, Pa., Rebecca and husband, Christopher Kroft, of Montgomery, Pa., and Sarah and husband, Sergio Pantoja, of Muncy, Pa.; two sisters, Sylvia and husband, Lyle Cobb, of Union Springs, N.Y., and Dora Guiles, of North Carolina, and one brother, Robert Covert, of Union Springs, N.Y. Eva is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter Deborah Watts; one brother, Adelbert Covert Jr.; one sister, Carrie Vorhis, and two great-granddaughters, Cheyenne Riddell and Natalie Iaia.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, 2019, from the Galen R. Betzer Funeral Service, 108 N. Main St., Muncy. Friends may call from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Union Springs, N.Y.

SYRACUSE — Joseph A. Schatzle Jr., 93, of Syracuse, passed away Feb. 5, 2019.
Born in Camden, N.J. on Dec. 26, 1925, Joseph was the son of the late Joseph and Mildred Wylie Schatzle Sr.
Joseph is survived by his sister, Carolyn Emerson; his nieces and nephew, Gary (Sharon) Emerson, Jill (Anthony) Franceschelli, and Sally (Edward) Wagner; and several great-nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Joseph was predeceased by his sister, Barbara Kitchens.
Services will be held privately for the family.

AUBURN — Frederick L. Franke III, 70, of Auburn, passed away on Jan. 29, 2019, at the Syracuse VA Hospital, after a brief battle with cancer.
Fred was born in Philadelphia, Pa. on Aug. 12, 1948 to the late Frederick L. Franke Jr. and the late Anne (Van Zandt) Franke. He was a 1966 graduate of Neshaminy Senior High School in Langhorne, Pa. Following his graduation, Fred enlisted in the United States Army, where he trained at the U.S. Army Southeastern Signal School in Ft. Gordon, Ga. He proudly served in The Signal Corps, assigned to the 725th Maintenance Battalion, 25th Infantry Division, where he supported Aviation Operations in Củ Chi, Vietnam from April 1967 to April 1968. A veteran of the Vietnam War, Fred was instrumental in his work and support to the Veterans’ Outreach Center in Levittown, Pa. Before moving to Auburn, Fred was an active member of the Jesse Soby American Legion Post #148, in Langhorne, Pa. He was most recently an active member of the VFW Post #1975, American Legion Post #1324, and the Frank Calimeri Post #9, all in Auburn. He also enjoyed fishing and was an avid motorcycle enthusiast.
Fred is survived by three sisters, Anne “Nancy” Holderbaum (Bob), of Fredericksburg, Va., Glenna Franke, of Churchville, Pa., and Margaret Franke and one brother, Paul Franke (Jill), of Gilbert, Ariz.; two uncles, Raymond Franke (Margie) and Thomas Franke (Joan); as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Anne Franke, and his only son, Frederick Marshall Franke.
An interment and memorial service are planned for the springtime in Bath National Cemetery Bath, N.Y.

AUBURN — Kristie L. McIntosh, 59, of Auburn, died Monday, Feb. 4, 2019. Heaven needed another angel, and so called Kristie home.
Born Sept. 14, 1959, she grew up and attended school in LaFayette, N.Y., and as an adult made Auburn her home. A very gentle soul, she will be missed by anyone who knew her. She was one of those people you hear of who would give the shirt off her back, or do anything for those in need.
Among the many hobbies she enjoyed, she is widely known for her love of baking, especially Christmas cookies which will be missed by many!
She found comfort in the word of Christ, and the fellowship she found at The Vineyard. Her greatest pleasure was with her family, whether it was special times spent with siblings, or the care she gave to her children and grandchildren.
Kristie died unexpectedly at home of natural causes. What none of us who are left to grieve her loss will ever forget – the smile and laughter that accompanied her wherever she went.
She is survived by two daughters, Crystal (Gary) Sheets, and LaRae McIntosh; one son, Shawn (Crystal) McIntosh; eight grandchildren; mother, Joyce Douglas McIntosh; siblings, Brenda (Ken) Clark, Sheri McIntosh, Jacqueline McIntosh, and Fred McIntosh; several nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind Ashley Fuller, and Lekeisha Denman DuVall, who thought of Kristie as a second mother.
Kristie was predeceased by her dad, Louis McIntosh in 1997.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Friday in The Vineyard, 360 Grant Ave., Auburn, followed by a celebration of her life. Friends are invited to call on the family from 1 to 4 p.m. Friday prior to services at The Vineyard.

BALDWINSVILLE — Lynn M. Aloi, 60, of Baldwinsville, passed away Jan. 31, 2019.
Born on Feb. 12, 1958, Lynn was a devoted mother, loving sister, aunt and Godmother.
She was predeceased by both her parents, Jeanne McDonough Campanelli and Lawrence J. Campanelli Sr., of Auburn.
She is survived by her 19-year-old son, Cameron Aloi; her two brothers and three sisters, Lawrence J. Campanelli (Sharon), of Auburn, James M. Campanelli, of Seattle, Wash., Lorraine Campanelli, of Marcellus, N.Y., Lisa Blakeslee (David), of Salida, Colo., and Amy Casper, of Skaneateles. She loved to spend time with her many nieces, nephew, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Lynn graduated from Cayuga Community College and received a bachelor’s degree from SUNY Empire State College in human resources management. She retired from Federal Express after 15 years as a human resource manager. Lynn had a very giving heart and chose to continue her work in service to help others after retirement. She worked in various jobs as a personal assistant or caregiver for the elderly and disabled and at the Boys and Girls Club in Syracuse.
Lynn had a strong faith and attended Syracuse Vineyard Church for many years, volunteering when she could with outreach programs such as packing meals for “Feed My Starving Children.” She was a vibrant woman who loved her family and friends; enjoyed laughter.
She was a skilled seamstress and often celebrated her love for her young nieces and nephews by sewing gifts of blankets, christening gowns, Halloween costumes, and special occasion dresses.
Lynn was a strong, avid swimmer and loved to be by the water whenever she could, either floating in her pool, boating on the lake, or walking a beach. She loved the sun, the sand, and the water of summer; anyone who knew her would agree she was a true sun worshiper!
Lynn had a true appreciation of the creative arts and music. She was a multi-talented woman who enjoyed painting and playing the piano. She passed on her strong love of music to her son, Cameron, who now plays multiple instruments.
Lynn enjoyed gardening, horseback riding, volunteering at her son’s school events, and sharing her cooking talents at family gatherings. Lynn will be dearly remembered and missed by all who loved her.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, in the Vineyard Church, 312 Lakeside Road, Syracuse, NY 13209.

GENOA — Jacqueline R. Hildreth, 63, of Genoa, passed peacefully on Feb. 3, 2019, at the Cayuga Medical Center, in Ithaca.
Jackie is survived by her husband of 41 years, Daniel S. Hildreth; their children, Jeremy (Shana) Thayer, Teresa (Jeremy) Reynolds, and Brian Hildreth; grandchildren, Sam, Noah, and Olivia Thayer, Evelyn and Vivian Reynolds, and Damion Hildreth; a sister, Vicki (Dan) Sheils; a brother, Paul (Val) Turo; many brothers and sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews; dear friends, and neighbors.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Ruth Turo; two brothers, and a nephew.
Jackie loved nature, fishing, cooking and baking. She was a member of the United Church of Genoa.
There are no calling hours. Services will be held at a later date.
AUBURN — George F. Kurtz, 76, of Townhall Road, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2019, at his home.
A life resident of Auburn, George was a graduate of Auburn’s West High School. He retired after many years of employment from Sylvania in Seneca Falls. George was a true lover of nature, enjoying hunting, fishing, birdwatching, and being outdoors with his dogs.
He is survived by two sons, Keith Ahart (Sandra), of Owasco, and Kenneth Ahart (Linda), of Fair Haven; one daughter, Kristine McGee (Joe), of Arkansas; three brothers, Keith Pethybridge, of Oklahoma, Gary Pethybridge (Cassie), of Arizona, and Kevin Kurtz, of Union Springs; grandchildren, Dylan Ahart, Kenneth Ahart, Michelle Curtis, and Richard Curtis (Brandy); great-grandchildren, Carson, Evan, Adelynn, and Max; several nieces and nephews; as well as nephew, Scott Kurtz (Genna), of Pennsylvania, with whom George was very close to.
In addition to his parents, George and Doris Kurtz, he was predeceased by his stepmother, Leona Kurtz, and brothers, Carl Kurtz and Robert Pethybridge.
Friends are invited to join the family for a service to be offered at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, at the Cheche Funeral Home Inc., 1778 Clark St. Road, Auburn. A calling hour will be held prior to the service from 5 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

AUBURN — Cheryl Eileen Wyllie passed away on Friday, Jan. 25, 2019, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Cheryl was born on Feb. 28, 1952 in Auburn, the fourth of five daughters born to Albert and Joan Powers Wyllie. She is survived by three sisters, Marilyn A. Wyllie, Jean M. Alexander, and Sandra (Richard) Riccio.
In addition to her parents, Cheryl was predeceased by her sister, Barbara J. Cico; her brothers-in-law, John Cico and David Alexander; her niece, Michelle Mastropietro, and her nephew, Mark Carnicelli.
She was the beloved aunt to 12 nieces and nephews, and the great-aunt to 18 great-nieces and nephews, who were a source of endless joy to her.
Cheryl was an animal lover and she particularly loved her two cats, Max and Jessie. There was always another story about what these two could get into.
Cheryl was a 1970 graduate of Central High School. She was employed at Cerner Corporation most of her work life as a medical software account executive and her job relocated her several times throughout her career. This afforded her the opportunity to make many very special and lasting friendships across the country.
Cheryl loved to travel and was always up for another trip to a warmer climate. She was a free spirit and had a fun-loving personality who could easily make friends wherever she would go.
There will be a funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2019, in St. Mary’s Church, 15 Clark St., Auburn.

PORT BYRON — Barbara Jean Marie Redmond Sepulveda, 80, of Port Byron, died on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2019, in Auburn Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Barbara was born in Auburn, the daughter of John C. and Ethel Mae Hoover Redmond and was a member of St. Mary’s Church. She had retired from McQuay International, Auburn in 1989. As a gifted artist, Barbara had an opportunity to work for Walt Disney, instead she sacrificed that opportunity to get married and raise her family. Barbara owned horses and loved horseback riding and Siamese cats.
She is survived by her children, Sue Dellostritto, Kathy Anstee (Paul), Lodema Bonilla (Michelle Gleason), Barbara Wilson (Roy), Jean Sepulveda (Joe Laribee), Maryann Deemer (John), Patti Sepulveda, David Sepulveda, and Tommy Sepulveda (Tammy); two brothers, Gordon Redmond (Darlene), and Jerry Redmond (Carolyn); many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, John Sepulveda; three children, Leo, Ethal, and John Sepulveda; six brothers, Tom, Dave, Richard, Donald, Ted, and Bob Redmond; three sisters, Linda Redmond, Pat Dutcher, and Lodema Redmond.

AUBURN — Ethel M. Famoly, age 95, passed away peacefully on Jan. 30, 2019, at Finger Lakes Center for Living where she had been a resident for the past six years.
Ethel was born on March 3, 1923 in East Rodman, N.Y. She spent the majority of her adult life in Skaneateles where she raised her children.
She is survived by her daughter, Jill (Larry) DeBerry, of Logan, Ohio; sons, Bruce and Charles, of Niles, N.Y., Jon, of Bath, N.Y., and Randall, of Auburn; sisters, Connie Frost, of Watertown, N.Y., and Mary Collins, of Chaumont, N.Y., and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by daughters, Christine (John) Nolte and Catherine (Hayden) Todd; sisters, Sally Coleman, of Brewerton, N.Y., and Helen Porter, Mabel Ralph, and Shirley Ralph, of the Watertown, N.Y. area.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Patricia Helena Hickey (nee Murphy) entered into eternal rest on Jan. 21, 2019, surrounded by the presence and prayers of her family.
Pat was born on Sept. 23, 1936, in Buffalo, N.Y., to the late Michael Francis and Josephine Matilda (Gerritz) Murphy. She was raised in Buffalo and attended Buffalo State College for two years. One evening, while attending a broom dance, the same young man leapt to pick up her broom each time she dropped it. That man, Paul Patrick Hickey, became her beloved husband of 55 years on Sept. 27, 1958, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Buffalo. Paul predeceased Pat in 2014.
Pat and Paul raised three children in Buffalo, Albany, and White Plains, N.Y., and Reston, Va. Pat kept an amazing house, always filled with the sweet aroma of masterfully fresh-baked pies, cookies and cakes. For most of her adult life, she was a member of the Daughters of St. Francis de Sales. She was an excellent model to each of her children of loving generosity towards one and all. In 2003, Pat and Paul retired to Virginia Beach, Va.
Pat is survived by her three children and their spouses, John Kevin (Mary Denzel) Hickey, of Virginia Beach, Va., Mary Frances (Norman Roos), of Danbury, Conn., and Patricia “Tish” Jo (Don Smith), of Pagosa Springs, Colo. She also leaves seven grandchildren, Elizabeth Eileen (Ryan) Hudy, Meghan Patricia and Thomas Paul Hickey, Mary Kate (Tyrone) Gordon and Norman Joseph “Joey” Roos (Tiffany Whitney), and Caroline Kateri and Marie Strongheart Smith. She also leaves one great-granddaughter, Ava Marie Gordon, and two sisters, Jolene and Frances.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Eileen.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 8, in St. Patrick’s Church in Aurora, N.Y. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Aurora, with a reception to follow.

MORAVIA — Donald Charles Weeks Sr., 94, of Moravia, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2019, at the Commons on St. Anthony in Auburn.
Don was born July 27, 1924 to Gerald and Grace Weeks, and raised in Spafford, N.Y. He graduated from Scott Union High School, and attended Morrisville Ag & Tech. He was a veteran, and served in the Navy as an aviation ordnance man during World War II. Until his retirement he worked in maintenance at Cornell University. With his wife by his side Don built several houses, traveled throughout the East Coast, and enjoyed life. He was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather. He will be missed greatly by his family.
He leaves behind two daughters, Susan Marney, of Cape Coral, Fla., and Patricia (Paul) Septoski, of Martinsville, Ind.; his grandchildren, Daniel Francis, Dennis Francis, Deanna Brock, Carrie Bergman, Kristin Dixon, and Michael Weeks; as well as many great-grandchildren, and daughter-in-law, Carla Weeks.
He was predeceased by his wife, Oneita Reynolds Weeks; his son, Donald Charles Weeks Jr.; grandson, David Francis; and his sister, Barbara Grace Weeks.
As per his request, there are no calling hours or services. Burial will be in Scott Cemetery in the spring.
