An Auburn man was charged with identity theft after using a stolen credit card Thursday, Auburn police said.
Russel Red Fox Cuipylo, 30, of 63 South St., Apt. 12A, was charged with second-degree identity theft and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, both class E felonies, the Auburn Police Department said.
Cuipylo had stolen the credit card earlier this summer and used it to make purchases at multiple stores, police said. The true cardholder was notified and then called police to file a complaint. After Cuipylo was contacted by authorities, he turned himself in.
Cuipylo was arraigned at Auburn City Court and briefly held at the Cayuga County Jail before posting bail.
