A Rochester man is facing a felony charge after Auburn police found him in possession of crack cocaine.
Sid Harrison, 36, of 1140 Norton Ave., Rochester, was driving with 31-year-old Michael Hitchcock, of 710 Franklin Mountain Road, Otego, in the early morning hours of Friday when the two were pulled over at a vehicle traffic stop. Police said Harrison was in possession of one small bag containing almost a gram of powdered cocaine, and 10 individually wrapped rocks of crack cocaine.
Harrison fled from police on foot, but was soon apprehended in the back yard of an Auburn residence.
Police later arrested Hitchcock at his ex-girlfriend's home. He had allegedly stolen her vehicle and violated an order of protection against her.
Harrison was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class B felony, and second-degree obstruction of governmental administration, a misdemeanor. Hitchcock was charged with two misdemeanors — second-degree criminal contempt and third-degree unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
Harrison was arraigned and remanded to the Cayuga County Jail on $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond. Hitchcock was arraigned and remanded to the jail on $750 cash bail or $1,500 bond.
