An Auburn woman with a previous driving while intoxicated conviction was charged with being behind the wheel while under the influence in Sennett, New York State Police said.

A trooper observed Alexis J. Dean, 22, speeding on Route 5 in Elbridge at 12:20 a.m. Tuesday while passing her in the opposite direction. Police said that by the time the trooper turned their vehicle around and stopped Dean, they were in Sennett.

Dean was arrested after failing multiple standard sobriety tests. She was brought to the Elbridge state police barracks, where a blood alcohol content level of .20% was recorded.

Dean was charged with DWI with a previous conviction in 10 years, and aggravated DWI, both class E felonies. She was released on appearance tickets and is due in Town of Elbridge Court July 29.
