Wine Spectator magazine's 2017 Restaurant Awards have recognized two Cayuga County-area restaurants for their wine selections.

The Krebs, 53 W. Genesee St., Skaneateles, and its sommelier, Jared Stafford-Hill, received a Best of Award of Excellence. The restaurant's strengths were recognized as being Burgundy, Bordeaux, France, California, Rhône, Italy, Champagne and New York wines. In addition to the Award of Excellence and the Best of Award of Excellence is a third, higher tier, the Grand Award. A total of 3,592 dining destinations in the U.S. and 75 countries were recognized. The awards began in 1981.
