An open house will be held by the state Department of Transportation at the Brutus Town Hall on Thursday to discuss a Bontra Bridge Road bridge maintenance project.
Preliminary drawings for the project will be available, and DOT representatives will be present to answer questions from the community, the agency said on Monday. No formal presentation is planned.
The preliminary plans for Bonta Bridge Road include steel repairs and removing existing paint to repaint the bridge that crosses over the Seneca River. The bridge will be closed to all traffic while under construction, and traffic will be detoured off-site to Ditmar Road, Route 34 and Route 31. Access to driveways will be maintained at all times.
The work is expected to be done during the 2018 construction season, the DOT said. Contact engineer Kurt Bower at (315) 428-4810 if a sign language interpreter, assisted listening system or other accommodation will be required to facilitate your participation in the open house.
