The Cayuga County Veterans Service Agency will hold an outreach session this Tuesday in the village of Aurora in order to help local veterans enroll in benefits programs.

An accredited veterans service officer from the agency will be available at the village of Aurora's Clerk's Office to help any veterans process claims for any benefits they're entitled, including disability compensation, pension benefits, tax exemptions, health care, and more.

County VSA Director Jessica Strassle first proposed the idea of holding office hours at different municipalities throughout the county as a way to connect with veterans who might have difficulty reaching or be unaware of the agency's Auburn headquarters.

As part of a similar effort, the agency also hosted a resource fair earlier this month to connect veterans with benefits advisors and other services for help.

The agency will be available from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30, at the Aurora Clerk's Office at 1099 Poplar Ridge Road.
