The public is welcome to attend a forum aimed at minimizing potential negative impact of manure handling on water quality within Cayuga County watersheds.
The forum is scheduled from 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday, June 25 at the Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES, 1879 West Genesee St. Road, Auburn.
The event is a follow-up to a similar meeting held in the fall of 2014, at which local legislators Keith Batman and Michael Didio hosted a forum with local farmers, environmentalists and property owners in attendance.
From that meeting was derived an advisory committee, or working group, that met in the intervening months to develop the recommendations that will be reviewed on June 25.
A Manure Recommendation Report written by Nick Colas, of the Cayuga County Department of Planning and Economic Development, was released in May and will be the focus at the June forum.
