Union workers at the Auburn Xylem Inc. plant entered their fourth day on the picket line Wednesday, as the company brought in replacement workers to continue operations at the water and sewage pump manufacturing factory. The 175 members of the United Steelworkers Local 9832, which include two employees at Xylem's Seneca Falls facility, went on strike when their contract expired last weekend. Xylem officials declined to answer questions about the replacement workers on Wednesday. The union has said negotiations are expected to resume Aug. 11.
