Amber Alert

An Amber Alert was issued Monday for a missing girl from Rochester.

An Amber Alert has been cancelled for a 14-year-old girl who was reported missing from Rochester over the weekend.

Multiple media outlets are reporting that Joanna Coates, who was last seen Saturday, has been found safe in New York City and is returning to Rochester.

Her alleged abductor, 41-year-old Robert Gonzalez, was also found. The Rochester Police Department, which issued the Amber Alert, said Gonzalez was last seen with Coates.

Gonzalez is a convicted felon who most recently served prison time for criminal possession of a weapon.

Police say Gonzalez, who lives in the girl's neighborhood, is in custody of the New York Police Department. Officials say he'll be charged with kidnapping when returned to Rochester.

The girl's mother, Linda Hollaert, says her daughter is being treated at a Manhattan hospital before being brought back to Rochester.
