Some harsh weather conditions are in the forecast this weekend, prompting advisories from the National Weather Service for areas that include northern Cayuga and Onondaga counties.
As of early Saturday afternoon, both a wind and weather advisory have been issued for areas along the Lake Ontario shoreline, including northern Cayuga County. The agency said gusts could reach as high as 57 mph, with the potential for property damage and isolated power outages. The advisory runs through 7 p.m. Saturday. The winter weather advisory states that 3 to 5 inches of lake snow could also affect the area between 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. Sunday.
