Blue-green algae blooms on the shoreline of Owasco Lake in 2016.

A new environmental group called Save Owasco Now will hold a meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14 at Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES Regional Education Center, 1870 West Genesee St. Road, Auburn.

The group, which was formed after toxins from blue-green algae were found in the drinking water of Cayuga County residents, will show a video called "Owasco Lake: A Tipping Point — The Drinking Water Crisis of 2016." There will also be short presentations, discussion and an action plan to engage public officials.
