An Auburn man attacked a friend over who was going to pay for beer, police said.
Auburn Police Department Deputy Police Chief Roger Anthony said Thomas J. Bilak II, 38, 169 Murray St., Apt. 119, attacked a guest at his apartment on March 24. Anthony said Bilak punched the 37-year-old man multiple times on the head and chest and demanded his wallet. The victim went in and out of consciousness as a result, Anthony said.

The victim went to Auburn Community Hospital to be treated for injuries and reported the incident to police on March 31.
Bilak was picked up on an warrant and charged with second-degree robbery, a class C felony, and third-degree assault, a class B misdemeanor. He was arraigned at Auburn City Court Wednesday and remanded to the Cayuga County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond. His next day in court is Monday, May 20.
