An Auburn man is facing criminal charges after he was allegedly found with a gun in Aurelius Friday, the New York State Police's Bureau of Criminal Investigation said Saturday.
Quandelle A. Barksdale, 24, was stopped by state police around 4:05 p.m. on Genesee Street in Aurelius. A trooper found Barksdale to be in possession of a loaded handgun and under 25 grams of marijuana, state police said.
Barksdale was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a class C felony; unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation; and a right of way violation, a infraction. The investigation was still ongoing, police said Saturday, and the Cayuga County Sheriff's Office assisted as well.
Barksdale was arraigned at Owasco Town Court Friday night and was remanded to Cayuga County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond. He is due at Aurelius Town Court Wednesday.
